a) Vice Chair (Sports)
Sitting amongst our other esteemed Vice Chairs, VC Sports has a very important role to play in achieving the overall goals of the society; the annual Frank Mortons Games is arguably the largest gathering of Chem Eng students in the country, and managing Imperial’s entry properly is VITAL if we’re going to get anywhere in trying to recreate the glory of 2005. In addition to this, this VC has the privilege of managing the admin behind Chem Eng’s entry into various leagues, as well as the C & G Trophy.

b) Post Grad Reps (x2)
Chem Eng is a lot more diverse than the four undergraduate years, and we’d like to reflect this on our committee. The role of the PG rep would include introducing new ideas and feeding back from a PG perspective on existing initiatives. S/he would also be responsible for event ticket sales amongst PG’s.

c) Officers (Events, PR, Industrial Relations, Sports)
With a view to increasing participation amongst lower years, we are inviting current 1^st 2^nd and 3^rd year students to apply to be officers for the current Vice Chairs. This is a fantastic opportunity to get involved in the best Dep Soc in the entire Engineering Faculty. It’s a chance to perhaps get to know people in the years above a bit better and should be a building block towards being on the executive committee the following year (2007-8).

This role is suited for individuals who may have been unsuccessful in previous elections, although if you’re keen to get involved, it’s not a prerequisite. All it requires is enthusiasm and commitment.

FRESH ELECTIONS

If you’re interested in being a year rep, please reply to ahmed.chowdhury@imperial.ac.uk with a short manifesto (~150 words) by Friday 13th October. These will then be distributed to everyone in your year, and then elections will then be held the following week.

Academic Reps (2x per year)
A crucial link between the student body and staff – you’ll be good at identifying, raising and resolving year-specific academic issues. You’ll meet regularly with Dep Reps and senior members of staff to resolve these issues.

Social Reps (2x per year)
The front-end of Chem Eng Soc; you’ll be responsible for representing your year in feeding back on existing initiatives, and help bring forward any new ideas. You’ll also be expected to attend the society’s events and be responsible for ticket sales amongst your year.
